I’m a fan of new-year resolutions. For me the start of a new year is a great time to put your energy and focus into new projects, getting healthy and generally improving myself. Sure, not all plans work out, but hey, as long as I gave it a genuine best shot!

This post covers 10 possible new year resolutions you might want to make as a poker player. Doing them all might be a bit much to ask first time round… If you pick 3, and stick with them for a couple of months until they become routine, you’ll be ready to come back for more.

Comedian Ellen DeGeneres once said: “You should never assume. You know what happens when you assume. You make an ass out of you and me because that’s how it’s spelled.” DeGeneres must have been a micro-stakes poker player to come out with that piece of gold.

Some news came via Planet Greg yesterday that was a perfect example of ‘Bitter-Sweet’.

Vladimir, who has been a colleague and friend to us at Planet HQ for more than 3 years, followed a string of recent successes by winning his 2nd PCA Package from PokerStars - and now has the bankroll and confidence to move up levels in tournaments and to invest more in his own poker project – Russian training site (now expanding into English) (no longer available!)

3 Tricky Poker Concepts Which Are Actually Quite Simple! 3z4co

ing back to when I first discovered the depth of strategy involved in poker – and things seemed quite complex. After years at the tables and in the business,  I can’t help but feel that some people like to publish complex sounding articles, simply to show off their skills!

Today I decided to take 3 advanced concepts, and show you how easy the fundamental principles behind them really are. These are Reverse Implied Odds, Combinatrix and Prize Pool Equity Models.
